Role-based Grading System
We have adopted the role-based grading system, a results-based compensation system that reflects job and performance. SMK's management by objectives and internal recruiting system also drive career progression.
There is a system for switching from the Office Work and Skilled Job Group to the Planning Job Group

Management by objectives
Involves setting work goals at the start of a term, reflecting on the extent they were achieved at the end of the term, and addressing outstanding challenges in the next term. Under this system, growth is achieved by working towards objectives, while at the same time outcomes are reflected in compensation.

Internal recruiting system
We are recruiting new project staff or filling vacancies as needed through internal recruitment. Applicants do not go through their supervisors, but apply directly to the head of the Human Resources Department, then if they pass the selection, they are transferred.

Internal free agent (FA) system
Once you are employed for a certain period of time in one workplace, you are given FA rights, which offers opportunities for new challenges and career progression (for career-track employees).

Personal Statement System
In the system, an employee makes a statement every year to express their desire to transfer or to make a proposal to a workplace or company. They then discuss with their supervisor.

Mentor system
A senior colleague is assigned to you, and is available for consultation on work and other matters not directly connected to work (for newly-grad recruits).

OJT system
New staff are taught tasks by senior colleagues through on-the-job training, but especially in the first six months after joining the company, when intensive OJT includes personal meetings so that they are enabled to perform basic tasks.

Concept of staff education
- SMK implements staff education to ensure that no new employee is left behind, and that their capacity is maximized.
- In addition to growing the human skills that are essential for a businessperson, training is also given to build the required skills for each class.
- In every division and department, we strive to teach and polish the professionalism for your position.
- With OJT at the center, we aim to build a system in which training and self-development are fully linked.
