- I have already graduated. Can I still apply as a newly-grad?
- Yes. Please get in touch if anything is unclear.

Departmental assignment and the job
- How is our departmental assignment decided?
- At the interview, we will ask your preferred job role. Please speak forthrightly about your own wishes and the kind of work you would like to do.
Our interviews are held with representatives of each division, taking into account your wishes. Finally, a decision is made on your assignment taking into account a range of matters including personal aptitude and the subjects you majored in as a student. Once you have joined SMK, if you do wish to change departments, it is possible to use the Personal Statement System to express your hope of transfer. - Where will I be working?
- All of SMK's domestic locations are possible. In other words, if you are in a technical position, you are more likely to be in Tokyo, Toyama, or Hitachi (Ibaraki), and if you are in an office position, you are more likely to be in Tokyo, Toyama, Hitachi or other sales office. There are also overseas assignments, but in most cases, it is people with more than three years' work experience in Japan who are posted overseas.
- Is there overtime or reporting to work on weekends?
- It does happen depending on your job and the time of year. At SMK, the flextime system applies to all employees, so we make every effort to work in a planned, efficient manner to prevent overtime and working on a day off.
However, for a set period after joining the company, you will work an eight-hour day from 8:20-17:05 to get used to your role.
