Sales and Planning
The face of SMK, acting as a bridge between the customer and the company
We offer the optimum solutions for the issues and requirements of our customers, working together with the design and development departments, and keeping an eye on market trends. A strength of SMK is our ability to provide customized products (one-off products that match customer requirements), meaning that the role of sales is very important and provides a great deal of job satisfaction. We are also responsible for pioneering new customers and markets, as well as following up with our existing clients.
Research and Development
Creating new value with SMK's technology prowess and open innovation
We research and develop new technologies and products, harnessing the technologies held by SMK and cooperative arrangements with enterprises and universities engaged in open innovation. Complementing our customer-first development approach, we also seek solutions for issues facing society.
Design
Developing innovative products that hold the key to the next generation of development by our customers
We design innovative and creative products based on the development themes discovered by sales, while maintaining awareness of market and technological trends and what our competition is doing. We take care of everything, from generating the ideas, through design, prototyping, and evaluation. When mass production is confirmed, we also take part in the design of the mass production and its launching. All our efforts are towards producing products that satisfy our customers.
Quality Assurance
Maintaining SMK's reliable quality and responding to customers' trust
We set goals for quality, perform analysis to improve quality, and implement measures to make improvements, among other jobs, so that we can maintain the quality that brings satisfaction to our customers. We maintain compliance with the most recent versions of standards such as ISO9001 and IATF16949 so that we have a world-class quality management system (QMS). Whenever there are quality issues, we respond rapidly to determine the cause and work to prevent the issue from occurring again.
Production Control
Building a global supply chain to bring the greatest profit
SMK has production facilities around the globe. In collaboration with our domestic and foreign production facilities, we develop production plans that accord with our client's requirements, aiming to build a global supply chain that reaps the greatest profits. We are involved in a wide range of occupations related to manufacturing activities, including procurement, stock control, and cost management, so that we can continue to manufacture while keeping quality at a high level.
Production Engineering
Aiming for the ideal production line and pursuing the greatest efficiency of mass production
SMK has the Production Engineering Center, and each business division has its own internal production engineering department. At the Production Engineering Center, we design and develop production facilities (automatic assembly machines, tools) and perform research and development into new production technology. The production engineering departments in the business divisions, on the other hand, build and improve the production processes used for the mass production of products. The two different organizations cooperate, thus realizing greater efficiency and even more innovative production lines.

Multi-faceted support for the organization's operations and efficiency
Administration staff support the management strategies of SMK, being involved in human resources, computer systems and data processing, management planning, general affairs, corporate legal, public relations, and financial planning. These are the staff that support the other employees on a daily basis. The shared mission of the admin staff is to lead SMK and its employees into a bright future.
