This is an introduction to SMK, a global electronics manufacturer at the forefront of technology.
SMK consists of three divisions; the CS Division, the SCI Division, and the Innovation Center. The divisions each handle the technology and product development for their area of responsibility, and the Innovation Center carries out advanced development in other fields.
The Divisions
CS Division
The CS (Connection System) Division is responsible for connectors. Connectors are the parts that can electronically connect devices and help the connections within devices.
They are being used in a variety of applications in daily life such as smartphones and wearable devices, as well as healthcare devices and automobiles, contributing to adding value to the products.
We continue to aim for connectivity at an even higher level and to be a market leader in the future of electronics.
SCI Division
The SCI (Sensing, Communications and Interface) Division handles a wide range of products, including remote control units, switches, and camera modules.
We are developing new markets, new businesses, and new products by bringing together "Sensing Technology" supporting the IoT era, "Communication Technology" contributing to the advancement of an information society, and "Interface Technology" pursuing better operability in automotive and other applications.
Innovation Center
The Innovation Center is our R&D department. It goes beyond the bounds of the businesses usually conducted by SMK to discover and create new business opportunities.It also develops applications, algorithms, and services, using these to find solutions for the issues facing society. Through a combination of in-house development and open-source activities, the Innovation Center operates using revolutionary measures to pioneer the future.
